Bengaluru Resident Stops Wrong-Way Traffic, Forces Auto Driver to Apologize in Viral Incident

A Bengaluru resident's confrontation with wrong-way drivers near More Mahadevapura has gone viral after an auto driver apologized upon being shown a one-way sign. The Reddit post has triggered widespread debate and support online.

Frustrated by the growing problem of wrong-way driving on busy city roads, a local resident stopped traffic while heading to work one morning and compelled an auto driver to apologize after proving that the road was designated as one-way. The incident, which took place near More Mahadevapura in the Mahadevapura area, has gone viral on social media, with many people praising the resident's courage.

The incident was shared on Reddit by the handle @harryfan007. In the post, the resident wrote, "While heading to work this morning, I had become so frustrated with people driving in the wrong direction on the already congested service road near More Mahadevapura that I refused to move. Yes, I regret that a traffic jam eventually formed because of me. But people had the audacity and confidence to insist that I was the one at fault while they continued occupying the entire road."

The resident further stated that when the auto driver claimed the road was not one-way, an argument followed. "I told him that if there was no one-way sign, I was prepared to give him ₹1,000, but if there was one, he would have to apologize. I showed him the one-way sign, and, as you know, he apologized in embarrassment."

The post also stated that the resident recorded several videos of motorists driving on the wrong side of the road and on the footpath, with their faces and vehicle number plates clearly visible. The resident said these videos would be submitted to the police station. The post added, "People who were present there may say I was wrong for stopping those behind me, but I will continue stopping those who drive on the wrong side of the road."

A third user wrote, "Well done, brother! There are many people in Bengaluru who drive carefully, but such offenders make them look foolish while dominating the roads. The time has come to show them their place. I hope all defensive drivers wake up and stand their ground. This is your city too."

A fourth user commented, "You did a great job. However, I would not recommend doing this if you do not know the local language, and perhaps not in general either. I have seen innocent people being surrounded by auto drivers and unfairly attacked within moments."

The incident has sparked widespread discussion online, with the resident's stand against wrong-way driving drawing significant public attention and support on social media.
